2012 Mayan Galactic Alignment Aboard the Carnival Triumph
"This is not a cruise. This is a Spiritual Experience," the website reads. Spiritual teachers, authors, Maya elders and experts in the fields of Maya calendar, spirituality, consciousness, ascension, meditation and healing have been invited to lead this Seminar at Sea. The goal will not only be personal enlightenment but "more importantly, for lifting the planetary vibration as we co-create the shift into the ‘Fifth World.’" The Western Caribbean itinerary will include a Mayan initiation ceremony at Chichen Itza with Mayan Elder Hunbatz Men on Dec. 19 and a fire ceremony in Cozumel with Grandmother Elizabeth Araujo of Guatemala, a leader in the Council of Mayan Elders. First Festival of the Mayan Culture (December 14 to December 22)
For the Maya, the universe is ordered by the gods, explained through a sacred story. Mayan cosmogony mentions a series of cosmic cycles or eras, determined by the creator gods. In the year 2012, on 21 December, the Mayan calendar system known as the Long Count will return to zero, to restart its cycle of 1,872,000 days. This 9 day festival put on by the State of Yucatan will include conferences, music, dance, films, visits to archaeological zones and more.
