First Merida Saint Patrick’s Irish Festival March 14, 15, 16 & 17
This Festival is important to both Mexicans and Irish because, in 1846, the “Batallón de San Patricio” (Saint Patrick’s Batallion) fought with Mexico during the Mexican-American War. Most of this batallion had deserted or defected from the United States Army. Their original countries of origin included: Ireland, and Germany, as well as Canada, England, France, Italy, Poland, Scotland, Spain, Switzerland, and Mexico. Most of its members were members of the Catholic Church. Their ranks also included a number of escaped slaves from the Southern United States. This will be the first Saint Patrick’s Irish Festival ever to be celebrated in the city of Merida, and it will be organized by Hennessy’s Irish Pub and Heineken, with support from the Merida City Hall and Patronato del Centro Histórico de la Ciudad de Mérida.

Coming off the buzz of his last drug heist, Ramon is blinded by an infatuation with Carolina, a young and beautiful college student. After being rejected, Ramon becomes maniacally determined to posses Carolina, destroy her family and take down one last score. Ramon's insatiable appetite for easy money and revenge lead to a Mexican standoff where greed, passion and betrayal meet in a deadly dance of blood and bullets.
