Notes: Bryan is Paul Trotter's middle name. And this is Paul and Wayne Trotter's latest restaurant offering in Merida, a high-energy, well-lit, upscale bar & grill. On "tasting night" before the opening, we tasted Angus steak tartare, tuna carpaccio, roasted pork with salad, all washed down by a merlot from South America and a few perfect martinis. The architecture and interior work to create a place full of energy and activity... it feels like a happening place. Nice choice of outdoor seating or indoor tables and booths. Upstairs climate-controlled wine cava gives the place a modern feel, as does the open and very active kitchen. Interesting interior treatments include a wall of wood and backlit onyx. There's nothing new in the wine list. Same as Trotter's, which isn't bad, but we're always looking for more variety, especially of California wines. Final analysis? We'll go back.

Had the worst shrimp dinner ever there, and when they retrieved my still-full plate, not a word was asked!

What about the prices? How much does each person spend approximately?

(Very rough English translation: "Excellent place and ambiance. The food is the best and I must say, the great Mojitos and the Clamato are the best I've had. I recommend the main course La Cazuela de Mariscos (Shrimp casserole...)... it is a delight!")

We have been now several times and "never" disappointed.
Food, service & ambiance all fantastic.
I just wish they would lay the wine bottles down.

Bien! Everything is perfect... the ambiance, the food, the drinks, the music. A real place to enjoy and share.

    Alejandro,

[In my opinion, it depends on the age of your children. Younger children might be a little too bored, but it is fine for .... say, ages 8 on up.

Bryans has a well-mannered atmosphere. Most children would be fine, but maybe bored. ]

Alejandro, Bryan's is more of an adult place to eat. We've eaten there a few times and have not seen children, but I'm sure you and your children would be welcomed. There isn't anywhere for them to play while you are eating, but if you went early enough in the evening, the place will be less crowded. Let us know!

Quiero llevar a la familia a cenar, es inapropiado para niños?
(Translation: I want to bring my family to eat... is it appropriate for children?)
