Notes: We've been here a few times already. Hennessy's opened with a bang on New Year's Eve of 2011, and has been cookin' ever since. The menu includes a great hamburger, fast-becoming-legendary curry dishes (one lamb, one chicken), various types of steaks and salads, and assorted bar food. We're a little puzzled by the tiny portion of rice served with the curry dishes (we almost didn't see it...) and the addition of french fries. And the quality of the menu itself is so bad we could hardly read it... and so out of keeping with the rest of the place (we hear (and surmised...) that the menus are temporary, but still...). The architecture is lovely and manages to create a cozy atmosphere in a renovated colonial building with tall ceilings. You can hang out, drink, eat, watch the game or a music video or even play pool. Oh, and did we mention, this place has the best music soundtrack in Merida (in our humble opinion)? We can see why this place is becoming so popular!

I have been eating at Hennessy's at least twice a week for the past two years and always take my frieds there, because the food is safe and consistently excellent and atmosphere is so friendly. Love it.

Just went to have lunch, and arrived at noon (opening time). Was told we couldn't order any food until 12:10, so we ordered a couple glasses of wine and some water. By 12:15, was asked if we liked salads... as that was what they were currently serving. I suspect their chef never arrived, and we were stuck. So we left and went down the street a bit and had a wonderful lunch at Roses and Xocolate. Very good.

Sorry you didn't have a good experience there, John. A lot of us like this place, it's true. And I've had a great Irish stew there, which is an Irish dish for sure. Also, there is different music on different nights, and some nights they play nothing but Irish music... and sometimes, that music is even LIVE! But everyone is different and that is what makes the world go around. Thank you for your opinion.

This is a place that can take you back to Canada as far as environment goes , but i must say that an Irish Pub with no Irish music kinda sucks. We have been a few times, but have not gone back. The nites that they have music are very boring and set for old folks that have forgotten how to get up and dance and have a good time. And I must say that the music provided leaves something to be desired. The food is another issue, not well prepared and over priced. When asked about Irish dishes, the answer was a blank stare.

Don't waste your money. The fish was soggy and all batter, soup had no flavor. Wish they had an Irish beer on tap.

We have been here several times, food portions are large enough and it is excellent. My favorites are the lamb dishes.

I too was there and yes, the ambience is lovely. However it would be nice to have the menus in English as well as Spanish because it is imperative that people like myself who struggle daily with food allergies (and whose Spanish is tacky at best) need to know what we are eating. I did try the fish and chips but did not like the fish but fish is not my favourite food. So next time will go for the hamburger which from what I hear is great.

We've been there several times, and the food is always good. Fish-n-chips are excellent, as is the curry. Can't wait to go back!
