Job Offered: Jewelry Designer
ARJ, a wholesale, repair and custom Jewelry Company, is currently seeking a Product Designer to join their team. This position requires two competencies: the first is designing jewelry; the second is quality control once it has left the design stage.
The ideal candidate will possess an understanding of our brand, the needs of the customer and how to communicate these needs into unique jewelry designs. This individual will be responsible for trend research, product design and the coordination of product development from concept inception to launch. The Product Designer will possess the ability to “wear many hats” within the ARJ business environment and work gracefully under the pressure of occasionally tight deadlines.
Job Duties
Product Development
• Develop new product through trend research, competitive analysis, sales analysis and client request
• Present new ideas to sales team in meetings
Quality Control
• Inspect quality of production items upon arrival to warehouse
• Communicate quality issues with head of operations
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Jewelry Design, Product Design, Rhino, 3D Design Industrial Design or Graphic Design. Other degrees in Art will be considered with the right jewelry experience
• Must be knowledgeable in Adobe Creative Suite, specifically, Photoshop and In Design (Illustrator and WordPress is a plus), MS Office Suite
• Excellent organizational, project management, and communication skills
• Strong ability to multi-task
• Must possess excellent follow-up and ability to take a project from conception to production
• Must be able to take direction and feedback
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as casting, assembly, plating, and finishing.
• Experience in product development/jewelry
• Strong work ethic and passion for jewelry and design
• Strong English skills required (Written and spoken)

Hi, I am a Creative Director previously working in New York, but now living in Thailand as an Art Instructor in an International School. Have been part of the Graphic Design industry in several ways for the last 20 years, but I am looking to move to Merida, Mexico.
Teaching is nice, but I would love to get back to designing and production, specially Jewellery. My family designed jewellery and owned jewellery shops in Mexico for three generations so my Spanish is fluent. Can speak/understand Thai, italian, french and of course English. I am a simple man looking to have a simple life doing what I love.. designing.
