Merida Events: Traveling Art
This Week... starting July 14, 2014
In The City
When the heat rises, in July and August, kids are out of school; but Merida seems strangely deserted. “Oh – they’re all at the beach,” some say; but we know better. When the temperature rises in Merida, Merida goes to the movies. There are an amazing number of movie theaters in this city and many film series are supported by either the state, the city, or private organizations that offer special presentations either free or at very little cost. We just finished an Alfred Hitchcock series and are well into a series of Japanese monster movies from the 1960s. So, if you are in Merida and prefer not to fight the crowds at the beach, now is the time to catch up on your museum visits and then its off to an air conditioned movie – or two.
