Oaxaca in Merida: June 09-24
For the first time in Merida, there will be a Oaxaca festival at Merida's Convention Center. The event will span ten days and will feature the culture, food, crafts, industry, tourism, song and dance of Oaxaca. You don't want to miss this! The show will have over 50 exhibitors.

Music Festival at Alianza Francesa
The Alianza Francesa annual live music festival! This music festival features popular music, much of it free and open to everyone. First started in France in 1982, it has now become a worldwide event, celebrated in more than 100 countries. For more details, check their website here.

Music of the World
This is a performance by seven members of the Symphony Orchestra of Yucatan: Toño López, Debora Katz, Victoria Nuño, Marketa, Natalia Merikhova, Charlie Mcgirr, José Luis

Concert: The String Orchestra of UADY
This orchestra is under the direction of Veselin Dechev. It began performing on January 30, 2010 and is currently building an impressive reertoire and reputation for itself.

The majestic premises will be space to present the string orchestra of the UADY.

Andres Tinoco in Concert
Hearing this guitarist is on the short list of "must do" in Merida. He has won awards in both the U.S. and Mexico and Merida is blessed to call him her own.

Mahache Jarana Maya Moots and Grupo la Charanga
This is a performance to showcase the new La Negrita.

STM Gypsy Jazz Band
This garden performance will give attendees at the International Reading Fair an opportunity to dance the night away. The STM Gypsy Jazz Band is led by Etienne Walex.

Three Shows at UADY
7:00 PM: Concert by students at Música de la Universidad Tecnológica Metropolitana
8:00 PM: Concert by Orquesta de Guitarras de la UADY
9:30 PM: Concert by Grupo Itzá Quiché, Director: David Flores Sabido
Don't skip any of these concerts. There's a new vocal group (Grupo Re-Percusión Vocal) that will be part of the 7:00 PM concert. They are directed by Maestro Juan Carlos Hernández, so you know they'll be exceptionally enjoyable! The last concert of the evening showcases Latin folkloric music.

Open Air Concerts
7:00 PM: Raquel Martínez Arana (vocalist) and Ariel Carrillo Diver (vocalist and guitarist) will open this concert. Then, Manuel Basulto will grace the stage. Many will know his work from his many years as soloist with UADY's Atril 6. Closing the evening will be the Troveros Universitarios (University Troubadors).
8:00 PM: Concert: Voices Without Frontiers Choir, Director: Maestro Carlos A. Tello Martinez, including a tribute to the career of the director.

Afro-Caribbean Concert: Las Fabulosas del Ritmo
The cumbia, cha cha cha, and mambo never get old in Merida, nor do the songs of legend and folklore. This is a great way to spend an evening in Centro.

Yucatan Symphony Orchestra: Cinderella
Program 13: The opera La Cenicienta (Cinderella), June 20, 22, 24, 26 & 28. The last symphony of the Spring Season is always one of the best events in Merida for the year. For tonight’s performance, the Concert Director is Juan Carlos Lomonaco and the Scene Director is Horacio Almada. Rossini’s Cinderela, tonight, features: Gabriela Thierry, Oscar de la Torre, Josue Ceron, Sergio Meneses, Claudia Rodriguez, Irasema Terrazas, and Emilio Carsi.
