1st Regional Artisan Fair in Mérida April 15 – 25
The 1ra Feria Artesanal Regional continues this week in Mérida’s Parque de la Paz. The last day is Friday, April 25. This fair features artisans from Chiapas, Campeche, Quintana Roo and Tabasco, in addition to Yucatán. The event is designed to provide a showcase for those who produce handicrafts and other items. In addition having an opportunity to purchase items directly from the artisans, there will be also be music and entertainment each night starting at 7 pm.

This exhibition is of the work of José Luis Fajardo y Karín Mijangos. This exhibition has no end date listed and has been part of the traveling museum program for some time, so do expect that it will continue to move around the city.

XXVII Marathon of the Marina 2014: June 8
This marathon has grown to be one of the largest in Yucatan. The prize pool this year is more than $500,000 pesos, and includes two compact cars, two motorcycles, and trips to the Riviera Maya. Cuban National Ballet: May 2 & 3
The Cuban National Ballet is one of the best ballet companies in the world, and has been since it was founded by the great Alicia Alonzo in 1948. Featured in this performance is "The Carmen Suite," a one-act ballet that was created in 1967 by Cuban choreographer Alberto Alonso, to music written by Russian composer Rodion Shchedrin. Yucatan and Cuba have always shared a very close relationship, especially when it comes to music and dance. This performance is a treasure that must be seen. It is the second in a series of performances called Gran Gala Internacional de Ballet Danza de América.
