Two more weeks of Summer Vacation
School begins again on Monday, August 25, but still look for plenty of beach and water action along the coast of Yucatan – and don’t forget that the mood (and visitors) will be on the way to and from the beaches for at least two weeks after school begins.

This fair goes on for two weeks. Go down to Parque San Sebastian at night and join in the festivities... there is always something going on!
Wilberto Canton Theater Festival: August 2 – 16 Last week and most of this week, there will be more theater performances in Merida than anyone can imagine. The festival is to showcase the marvelous dramatic talent produced in this state, along with its exceptionally talented directors. The festival is in honor of master composer, poet, teacher, administrator and cultural ambassador to Belgium and UNESCO, and a favorite son of Merida, Wilberto Canton. Performances are listed with regular events below. Most events will be in Spanish.Check the events here!
