The Lodge at Uxmal
We cordially invite you to join us to Homage to filmmaker Manuel Ponce Barbachano.
The famous filmmaker, who was the uncle of Lic. Fernando Barbachano, is considered to be the father of independent cinema in Mexico, creator of the first film-reports in Mexico. He was also a leader of writers, directors and selected contents and cultural values for their productions.
Among his award - winning films, he was a winner of the Palme d' Or at the Cannes Film Festival (Nazarin), and an Oscar nomination (Torero!).
On the 18th, in the morning, we will be presenting papers and literary works of 2016 FILEY and international writers group: UC Mexicanistas at the Hotel Hacienda Uxmal Plantation & Museum, from 10:00 am to 1: 30 pm.
In the afternoon, the Tribute to filmmaker Manuel Barbachano, starts from 2:30 pm at the Lodge at Uxmal, located opposite the archaeological site of Uxmal.
