CANACO
Huge showing of unique and handmade art by artisans from around the Yucatan Peninsula. Artisans are screened and hand-picked by the AANY committee, which also supports their efforts to show and sell their work so that they can continue making their art.
Among the new exhibiting artists is Andrés Vázquez Paloma, from Oxculzcab. Andrés will present his award-winning bas relief carvings depicting village scenes. The detailed work of this self-taught artist is extraordinary. Alfredo Poot Dzib, of Valladolid, will present his highly decorated jicara items, from lamps to tortilleras to a large variety of decorative items. Rosalinda Couich Ramirez, from Felipe Carrillo Puerto, will present her charming baskets and woven animals made of bejuco. Maria Esther Uitzil, of Valladolid Nuevo, will exhibit exquisite woven shawls in many sizes and colors.
A great place to buy holiday gifts!
