Casa Chukum is located in the small, Mayan town of Sitpach; surrounded by nature and isolated from the noise and stress of the city. Greet the dawn of each new day with the song of tropical birds from the home's balcony. On hot days, you'll love the spacious swimming pool and yard.
The home's location is ideal for exploring the Yucatan, just twenty minutes from downtown Merida and only ten to the high-end shopping, entertainment and restaurants of Plaza Altabrisa. If you'd prefer a day at the beach, Chicxulub Puerto is a 25 minute drive in the other direction.
From ancient times the Mayan civilization revered the Chukum tree, which gives the home its name. Found throughout the Yucatan peninsula, the tannins extracted from the Chulum tree's bark were used to give an earth-tone finish to homes and its lumber was used in the construction of Casa Chukum's pool.
