Merida Emergency Numbers

Merida Emergency Numbers

18 July 2017 Daily Life 24

Awhile ago, friends of ours had a medical emergency in the middle of the night and had no idea who to call. We ourselves have needed to report something unusual on the street (in our case, an alarm system that refused to shut down) and did not know how to contact the police. The number in our Paginas Amarillos (Yellow Pages) wasn’t correct. And frankly, even when we are not rushed or in a panic, we find the Paginas Amarillos puzzling at best. When you are hurt or in trouble or just plain annoyed, but you don’t know the language, information you may need is a lot harder to find.

So here are the emergency numbers you might need to know!

It would be so helpful if you could put a "last updated" note on all your articles.

Is this the most current list, as per your comment above?

    Thanks for a wonderful publication.

Can you direct me in the right direction to complain about the roads in Celestun. I live at the Condo Resort of Playa Maya Condominiums and just recently the Resort and Ximim paid to fix the road from the Army base to our Resorts. From the village to the Army base is absolutely terrible. Both of us bring a lot of business to Celestun. Tourist are very disappointed at the condition of not only the village but the road which is Calle 12. The road into the village and the return has large pot holes, very hard on a vehicle when you are not familar with the road. We have asked and pleaded with the local Mayor and she does nothing to fix the roads.
This is the second time we have paid personally to fix the road.

Who is a good doctor to go to when you have, um, stomach issues? Is there anyone near the Centro?
