Merida will host grand conference on 25 and 26 January at the meeting "Women in the knowledge economy and innovation" (METI) in the Jose Peon Contreras historic theater located in the historic center of this city.

These days of January have been important celebrations and the anniversary of the founding of Merida celebrate 100 years of the First Feminist Congress held nationally held in Mérida.

The agencies like the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE) and the National Institute for Women (Inmujeres), in coordination with the UN Women and of course the state government has convened the First International Conference "Women in the Knowledge Economy and Innovation".

The defender of human rights, Malala Yousafzai will be present at this event through a video that will contribute to Mexico of building leadership in the field of gender equality and economic empowerment of women would return.
